Peer pressure and progression

As hard as it is to stay on track on a diet, it's even harder when you're friends with a bunch of raging alcoholics (just kidding) who try to pressure you into drinking at a party! I honestly don't mind drinking cause I can easily fit it into the diet by just giving up on a few foods earlier in the day to compensate but it's the feeling of residual alcohol that stays in your body for the days afterwards. It's just a disgusting feeling that I never want to feel but, peer pressure hits hard. I guess, i'm just not strong enough mentally but it's just a speed bump on the road to the end game. Slows you down momentarily but you can accelerate back in no time!

Recently, i've started to eat better and have noticed some reasonable strength gains. So i just went for it in the gym. Ive been able to pull off a new pb, 40kg flat dumbbell press for a 5x5 workout and a 100kg squat for 5x5. With my squats, i'm quite scared when hitting depth cause i've been told that i do round my sacrum/coccyx at the bottom of my squat but hopefully it should be an issue that i can fix within the next few weeks. Other than that, OHP is set at a firm 60kg by 3 reps and deadlift at 140kg by 1. Deadlifting program has changed to 5 sets of 10reps at 80kg and hopefully, it should skyrocket in the next few months. Till then, have a peak at what i do have on record and let me know if there's anything i can improve on.

Motivation 101



Its been quite a while.. But hey! Life isn't meant to be spent behind a computer. It's meant to be exciting, adventurous and most of all, it's supposed to be enjoyed with those around you! 

A lot has happened since the last time I've written about any of my fitness adventures and in most part, its been for the better. 

It's just been a crazy roller-coaster of diet and body shape.. At the start of 2014 I was looking along the lines of this:




But of course i decided to slack off and go on a seafood diet... 
"Bulking" was just a reason i gave myself to eat copious amounts of food but its always about the journey and i'll never stop my journey of self improvement. 
In comparison, today, 
I still look the same..
. Nothing much has changed except for my ability to lift more weight! 
Double overhand grip Deadlift 140kg 1RM
80kg Bench/35kg DB press
60kg Overhead press
100kg Squat (SHOULD BE > 9000 BUT IM JUST WEAK)

Majority of gym training nowadays has been focusing on the muscles in the back, lat dorsi, anterior delts, traps and rhomboids, and the subscapularis muscles.

Now don't laugh at this pathetic attempt of pull-ups but it has been a very long time coming and i'm quite proud of myself considering I've never been able to anything of the sort before.

Other than training at the gym, there have been many bicycle adventures since! Just not recently in the past few weeks with all the rain in Brisbane.

First of all, the trusty beloved was dealt a severe blow and well take a look at the damage..




In saying that, she'll soon be a phoenix and will be revived once I have the means to fix her. All replacement parts have been bought and hopefully, she shall be fixed in the next few days! Fingers crossed!


However, the new bae was acquired and well have a look at this beauty!

Going from a bombproof bike (almost) to an aerodynamic carbon goddess was such an amazing jump, I could instantly tell the difference in the two different rigs!

And she shall be the one to take me across the finish line when i do the Brissie to Bay charity ride for Multiple Sclerosis.

Personally, there's quite a few goals that I hope to achieve this year. 
1. The beach body!
2. Cycle 200kms in one ride
3. Acquire greater co-ordination in sport

But it won't be the end if i don't. 
Plenty of vitality left to go on and achieve them in the years to come!



It has been an awesome year and hopefully 2015 will be even better!

Brisbane to Gold Coast YEAAAA!!!!!

Hey guys! NOT TO WORRY! IM STILL IN THE GAME?!?!

nothing has changed much, routine has pretty much stayed the same;
gyming 1 day on and 1 day off

but yea to start, two weeks ago, the cycling crew dragged me along on a double 'riverloop' which is pretty much 2 loops around the brisbane river instead of 1 as practice for the brisbane to goldcoast cycle!
it was pretty tiring and my legs felt like they were going to break but instead, my bike did!

in the last 7-ish km's before i would hit a personal record of 100kms\
 (like longest cycle i've ever done, it still was)
i just noticed that my bike was going to give up on me?!?!
^ you can see that i only have 1 bolt out of the five bolts left on the crank...
it could've ended really badly if that 1 last bolt came out because it would've dissassembled and i most likely would've just flopped around and get pretty badly hurt!
SO yea. had to get the bike fixed and im glad that happened because if it didnt, it would've happened to me on the b2gc ride and well that could've ended a lot worse. 

and yea.. BRISBANE TO GOLD COAST CYCLE!!!!
it was my first time ever to do a massive group ride and a ride of that distance! 
it was an amazing ride (a lot of flats) but in the end, my legs were absolutely destroyed!

btw, i've got a pretty funny and embarrassing story...
in the last 3kms of the cycle, my left hamstring gave way and it started to cramp up.. BADLY. 
at the last set of lights (before the path to the finish line) i had to clip off my cleats cause traffic halted.. with my left leg hurting badly, that was the last leg i wanted to straighten out so i clipped off on my right..but you guessed it.. MY RIGHT LEG CRAMPS UP TOO!??! and i fell over. 
almost a perfect ride except for that one incident! :C 
other than that, it was an awesome ride and im keen on doing it next year!

anyways, back to gyming progress... nothing much has changed like i said..
i kinda ate too much on sunday and monday cause i just had the mentality of, nah dont worry, i can't go over my calories cause im so calorie deficient of the ride and.... well i think i did but hey, cheat days are cheat days and you gotta feed your body after such a ride! but its back to good clean eating and what not. 


but seriously though, how can you not eat that^

and its only 550 calories too! 
okay maybe thats a lot but i gym after so meh. 
but yea, ive been on a rollercoaster diet... but ive been mainly keeping to it.
i can't remember what my last recorded weight was on the blog but im now 88kg which is a pretty big milestone for me! 12kg lost and i've still got plenty more to go! hoping to reach 80 before i go on holidays but i doubt i will. either way, im HAPPY!?!? :D

and yea... 
few weeks back, hit a deadlift pr.
yes i do understand that using the machine is not the actual weight but hey, im still proud.. despite the shit as form! haha. its a lot better from where i started 3 months back. my max back then was only 2 plates each side and now its four. so i guess its okay? 


but what happened to my triceps?!?!? THEY"RE SO SMALL NOW. 
i guess its not just fat im losing on my cut, its muscle too :C 
oh well, at least im kinda maintaining it. 
and yes guys its got a filter.. SO ADD ME ON INSTAGRAM!

i also got new shoes in this past month and im loving them!

and yea.. so i've started to be not as lazy and walk to the gym as well! 
and run. kinda? not as much cause my ankles been hurtin but i guess ill get into it soon!

Cutting UP!

Hey guys, its been a while since i've been blogging! 
As usual, i've still been gyming! Not giving up that easy!
For starters, last week on sunday, did the weekly cycle and attempted front cootha.. to my surprise, it wasnt as bad as back cootha and was definitely much quicker! But even then, the ride down was bloody amazing and super fun!
 I'm actually in love with cycling cause i just enjoy the scenery that you get to see and i push myself to the limits! Also, its like the only thing other than squats that actually works my legs! (my calves anyway) 


and this photo is just a progress photo.. i love my phone, it somehow takes the best photos and makes me look cut as! except for im not but thats what im working towards!

I haven't given up!

Suuuper duuuper sorry guys!
Just because i wasn't blogging, it didnt mean that i had given up!
It's just been a pretty hectic few weeks with school because of block exams and all but they're all done now! And until Final Exams, it's just gonna be gyming and studying all day errday! 
So..... I guess its time to get back on track!
I've haven't been gyming much on weekdays and thats what im keen on getting  back into!
I've been keeping up with cycling though!

And yea, i've kinda been keeping up with nutrition i think.. sorta.. 
well im on 91kgs atm which means 8kg lost so far to date! which im pretty happy with! and yea!

Sunday Cycle

Just a quick post cause i'm steel feeling super tired despite my sleep from 2-7.. LOL. that 5 hour nap :DDD it was well needed though :/. 

so yea. as always, i went for a cycle and this time it was 66km's doing the riverloop! - something cause last time it was 75. o-o.
despite that, i still took the same time cause i was cramping up on the way home after a break at the "Garage" < its a little cafe where all the cyclists go to hang out and grab a coffee at southbank!

afterwards, fuck me, i was so hungry and my sister was shouting <ily> ; so i just pigged out! FUARK YEA IT WAS SO GOOD. 
i had whats known in viet as "Banh Canh" and its like really thick rice noodles with pork in a pork/msg/tastesgood broth! hells yea!


and well since i was being fat, i had another bowl of food;
"Bun Thit Nuong" which basically translates to Vermecelli noodles with Bbqed meat. in this case it was beef! YUM YUM!
but yea..  didnt have the broth from the previous dish cause that shit is salty and salty means you retain water mass! 
so i didnt eat all the noodles either;;; to much carbohydrates! 



and yea.. for dinner had some of mum's weird chicken meatball butter chicken? iunno.. only a little bit though cause i wasnt that hungry and i'd been snacking before i fell asleep haha! 

but yes, right now im so fucken bloated cause i've had so much shit to eat! 

anyways, tomorrows the start of a new and better week!

200 reps of Gainz



 So basically, training chest again with declan like always and well, i got inspired by a vid i watched on youtube which was CT fletcher making some guy benching weight for 200 reps..

^^ WATCH THAT!

anyways, we attempted the same thing but instead of going down and back up like a parabola in weight, we just started at our max and kept on dropping weight whilst aiming for the minimum of 10 reps and aiming for 20 reps afterwards. 





 HOLY FUCK! the amount of pain you feel is fucken insane.. just after the 40th rep.. 
your chest is fully blazed and fuark... IT HURTS LIKE CRAY. 
but you just gotta drop weight and push it out!
AND FUARK, IT WAS THE BEST PUMP EVER! 
i started with an A cup then nek minute, DDDDDD CUPPP. no seriously, i could've worn a bra if i really wanted to. LOL. NO HOMO



 and on request for declan, everyone, mire his massive gains and pump. 
starting left ; just started; middle 100th rep and right 200th rep. 



attempted to do some more chest afterwards like flyes and shit to set it in.. but..
we were way too fuarked to do it and my chest was just jlkafjaldskjwsdoilkfnsa mode. 
so instead, we just decided that we were finished with chest and decided to make our triceps grow!

LOOOK, I THINK IM MAKING GAINS :D
so yea, we did tricep rope pull downs..



 and tricep bar extensions..
5 sets of both for 20 reps. 


also did skull crushers afterwards with close grip bench for more tricep destruction!
8 skull crushers x 12 close grip for 3 sets. THAT SHIT WAS PAINFUL..
so not only does my chest hurt but so do my arms.. AND I GOTTA CYCLE IN 6 HOURS. FUCK ME.
GONNA FEEL SO MUCH FKEN PAIN QQ!!

and for dinner, finished up with a turkey sub! ..
yea okay lets just say not everything i've been eating has been so healthy but its still in my calorie limit and well, im losing weight so meh; can indulge myself once every in a while.!
